Structure and Headings

Markdown structure is what tells us where one piece of your history ends and the next begins.

A Workable Shape

• A section heading for each part of your CV, such as your professional experience or your volunteer work.

• An entry heading for each employer, project, or engagement, including the dates.

• Optional subheadings inside an entry to group related bullets, such as “System Administration” or “Incident Response”.

• Bullets and paragraphs describing the actual work.

Dates Matter

Include a date range on every entry you can. Duration is a meaningful part of how experience is weighed.
