What is a Curriculum Vitae?
It’s like a very detailed journal of your entire work history that covers everything from mundane daily activities to surprise tasks.
This is NOT a long-form resume!
This is YOUR whole story! ALL OF IT!
Still confused about the difference?
What is a Resume?
The word “résumé” is French and translates to “summary.”
A common challenge among job applicants is to get their “summary” down to 1-2 pages. The struggle is often trying to figure out how to match words on the JD while trying to show off exceptional candidacy.
This fails because the document is serving two purposes.
A résumé is a sales document–WRITE FOR THE AUDIENCE!
This audience DOES NOT care about the twenty neat things you did; they DO care how you can solve their immediate and upcoming problems.
Why Does This Matter?
SIMPLE! Humans cannot take the time to carefully review every application for general relevancy, but well-trained computers can handle this with ease.
